Violet Wild
Violet Wild is a folk-rock singer-songwriter in northern Colorado. Where the prairie meets the mountains ... like certainty running up against mystery. With her earthy vocals, edgy acoustic guitar, and restless heart, Violet’s style evokes both Sheryl Crow and Joni Mitchell. She learned harmony from Simon & Garfunkel as a child, and played the bass lines from Red Hot Chili Peppers on the sousaphone in marching band. Since 2017 she’s been performing with cover bands in the live music scene along the Front Range. Now fronting the Violet Wild Collective, she still plays a wide range of the pop and rock that shaped Gen-Xers. But her own high-desert neo-folk sound will sit well alongside bands like the Lumineers, The Head and the Heart, and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats.
Violet’s debut single Steal My Body is due out October 27, 2023, a collaboration with Austria-based guitarist and producer Joost Scheltes. It traces the lore surrounding Gram Parsons’ death in Joshua Tree. It’s an anthem to love and grief, bonfires in the desert, and the places we go when we are in need.
