Twang is an award-winning acoustic trio that blends bluegrass, folk, blues, and Americana into a sound that is both deeply rooted and unmistakably their own. Featuring banjo, fiddle, guitar, double bass, and rich three-part vocal harmonies, the Denmark-based ensemble has built a reputation for electrifying live performances that balance virtuosic musicianship with fearless improvisation. Formed in 2014 by three musicians who met while studying at Copenhagen's Rhythmic Music Conservatory, Twang has spent more than a decade pushing the boundaries of traditional acoustic music while remaining firmly connected to its roots.In 2024, Twang received the Danish Music Award for Roots Band of the Year. Their acclaimed second studio album, Propaganda, also earned nominations for Roots Track of the Year and Roots Composer of the Year, adding to the band's earlier recognition as a Live Band of the Year nominee. Renowned for their chemistry on stage, Twang has performed hundreds of concerts throughout Denmark and beyond, including appearances at Tønder Festival, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Riverboat Jazz Festival, Jelling Musikfestival, Bear Creek Folk Festival in Canada, and numerous other leading folk, roots, and jazz events.
