Growing up in Rouyn-Noranda, Zach Zoya cultivated a rich and diverse musical palette influenced by his family. His South African father introduced him to the rhythms of African music, while his French-Canadian mother immersed him in the sounds of North American soul and pop. From an early age, Zach was steeped in a world of dynamic melodies and cross-cultural influences. His talent soon caught the attention of French rap powerhouse label 7ième Ciel, where he became the first English-speaking artist to sign with the esteemed label. This pivotal moment led to collaborations with some of Canada's top producers for his debut EP, Spectrum. The project earned him recognition as a rising star, landing him on various ones-to-watch and best-of lists, and garnering nominations for awards such as the 2021 Berlin Music Video Awards and the 2021 ADISQ Award for International Collaboration of the Year for his single “Patience” with UK artist-producer Angel. Following the success of his 2022 EP, No Love Is Ever Wasted, Zach’s career quickly heightened. The project amassed millions of streams and delivered two consecutive Top 40 radio hits: “Start Over” featuring Benny Adam and “Upper Hand” featuring Soran. In 2023, he further solidified his status as a breakthrough artist, winning awards at the Dynastie Gala and The SOCAN Foundation, and headlining sold-out shows in Toronto and Montreal. Over the past year, Zach has pushed his creative boundaries by adding a light alternative pop to his R&B and melodic rap. This evolution culminated in the release of his new EP, It’s Always Sunny in Glendale, which draws from his personal experiences and captures the lifestyle changes he lived after moving to Glendale, California.
